Variegated Ivy Plant

Variegated Ivy Plant (Common ivy, English Ivy or Hedera Helix Variegata) is a vigorous, fast-growing vine, which can climb using aerial rootlets or spread as ground cover. The glossy and leathery leaves of English Ivy are heart-shaped with distinct variegation, featuring creamy white to yellow margins against dark green centers. Young stems are green and flexible but become woody and brown with age. They have aerial rootlets that help the plant adhere to surfaces. The plant can climb up to 100 feet high if it finds suitable surfaces such as walls, or trellises. When not provided with a vertical structure to climb, English Ivy can spread horizontally, creating dense mats. English ivy adds a classic, lush green look to interiors. Its trailing vines can create an elegant, cascading effect in hanging baskets or be trained to grow on indoor trellises. English Ivy is known for its ability to filter indoor air pollutants. NASA’s Clean Air Study found it effective at removing toxins from the air.
