Ponytail Palm

Ponytail Palm (Bottle Palm, Elephant Foot Tree, Beaucarnea Recurvata or Nolina) is an exotic palm tree, valuable for its unusual shape and decorative foliage. Long, slender, and arching leaves grow from the top of the trunk in a fountain-like arrangement, giving it the appearance of a ponytail. The leaves are typically dark green and can grow up to several feet long, tapering to a fine point. The trunk of the Ponytail Palm is thick and swollen at the base, storing water, which helps it withstand drought conditions. Mature plants may produce small, white or cream-colored flowers on long stalks, although it’s rare for indoor plants to flower. Ponytail Palm is a slow-growing plant, adding only a few inches of height each year. Ponytail Palms are extremely low maintenance and drought tolerant. They can survive in dry indoor environments and are perfect for people who tend to forget to water their plants regularly.
