Lemon Maranta

Lemon Maranta (Lemon Prayer Plant, Herringbone Plant or Lemon Lime Maranta) has broad, oval-shaped leaves that are characterized by a beautiful pattern of light green to yellow (lemon) veins contrasting against a darker green background. The leaves often have a central stripe and secondary veins that are prominently lighter in color, creating a striking visual appeal. The underside of the leaves is typically a light green or slightly purplish hue, adding to the plant’s visual interest. Lemon Maranta grows as a low, spreading plant, typically reaching up to 12 inches in height and spreading outwards. This plant is known for its nyctinasty – a phenomenon where the leaves fold up at night like hands in prayer and open out flat during the day. The vibrant colors and striking patterns of the leaves add a touch of beauty and exoticism to indoor spaces. Like many houseplants, Lemon Maranta helps improve indoor air quality by filtering out common pollutants.
