- lighting: Hoya grows best in well-lit places, protected from direct sunrays as it can damage the leaves, as well it will not tolerate shady spots. When the plant has lack of light, it will not bloom.
- watering: Hoya prefers moderate and regular watering. Let the topsoil slightly dry before next watering. Use only room temperature water.
- fertilizing: the plant is fed once in 2 weeks during growing season with compound fertilizer; no need to feed in winter. When the plant is going to form buds, add some blooming booster with higher phosphorous content.
- humidity: Hoya prefers high level of air humidity, and will appreciate regular misting. It is not recommended to place the plant near heating or cooling devices.
- temperature: best temperature conditions are between 65 and 80 °F, but the temperature range should be consistent. It can’t tolerate drafty places or cool temperatures.
- repotting: repot the plant every 2-3 years using next size pot and African Violet potting mix with some amount of perlite and orchid bark.
